James Kinsella graduated with honours in arts from Haverford College, Philadelphia, USA. He started his career in the field of international journalism and moved rapidly to occupy senior management positions within several media companies. He formed his own information services company, “TIS”, which he later sold. Considered a pioneer in the Internet Industry, he served as President and CEO of MSNBC.com, a joint venture between Microsoft and NBC and was instrumental in developing MSNBC.com into an international news brand. He acted as Chairman of World Online which was eventually merged with Tiscali forming Europe’s largest independent Internet Service Provider. In 2002, joining Interoute he was responsible for one of the most substantial restructurings in the European Telecommunications industry. He authored an award winning book on media and contributed to several other publications.
