GO plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Vanessa Macdonald as the Manager of Public and Media Relations/Corporate Communications with effect from January 10, 2011.
Vanessa is no stranger to the company having been the editor of www.di-ve.com since May 2008, a post she will be relinquishing once the hand-over has been completed.
She will be replacing Franco Aloisio, who will be leaving the company after four years to take up a post with another company.
Vanessa has been a journalist since 1993, having worked with Island Sound Radio for a brief period before moving to The Times, where she was the head of news for numerous years and eventually business editor. She is a well-known freelance writer and media personality.
“We are delighted to have Vanessa on board in this important role. She has extensive contacts with the business community and the social partners – and her high public profile will help her in this key position, where she will liaise with our ever-important internal and external stakeholders, especially our customers, staff and shareholders,” GO Chief Executive Officer David Kay said.
