18/11/2011 di-ve.com acquired by new investors

17 November 2011: Digital Interactive Limited recently acquired the business of online news portal www.di-ve.com from GO plc. The popular news portal attracts the significant amount of more than 210,000 unique visitors every month, representing more than 639,000 visits and in excess of 2 million pages viewed every month.

The acquisition represents a significant start for Digital Interactive Limited which was purposely set up to enter the digital arena and effectively managed to acquire the entire shareholding of di-ve.com. The company will now focus on managing the website while implementing an expansion strategy.

“Over the coming weeks, Digital Interactive will be implementing a complete overhaul process for di-ve.com to improve the online presence and facilitate the customer experience and interactivity. In parallel, the focus will be on improving the functionality of di-ve.com to provide visitors with the latest factual news and information. The aim is to bring to our visitors the latest updates, developments and much more information without any political connotation or bias,” said Digital Interactive managing director, Christopher Sultana.

A spokesman for GO said: “GO has been very proud of the role that www.di-ve.com has played as a leading news and lifestyle portal over the past decade. However, GO believes that its future investment should be focused on its quad-play services and the decision was therefore taken to sell this asset to Digital Interactive Limited, who we are sure will be able to exploit the exciting world of online journalism, ensuring the portal’s future growth and presence.”

www.di-ve.com is credited with being the first online news portal to be launched in Malta having been established since 2000. Since then, di-ve.com has evolved to include classifieds and live streaming and today encompasses a wide range of online services that attract a significant audience on a daily basis.
