Photos are a wonderful way to capture memories, particularly those special family moments we want to celebrate. But before posting a photo online, take a quick look at what else might be visible in the image. Without realising it, a photo can sometimes reveal details about you or your children, such as:

• Daily routines or places you visit regularly
• School uniforms, school names or identifiable locations
• Home addresses, house numbers or other personal details
• Your real-time location or upcoming travel plans

A few simple habits can help you share more confidently. Review your social media privacy settings regularly, know who can see your posts, and consider whether there’s anything in a photo you’d prefer to keep private.

It’s also worth remembering that once something is shared online, it may be copied, saved or shared with others, even if the original post is later deleted.
