Partnership to offer Maltese businesses dedicated, resilient connectivity to Amazon Web Services, backed by GO’s national fibre network and European footprint.

GO plc has become an Amazon Web Services (AWS) Direct Connect Partner, making it the only Maltese entity confirmed to hold the designation and giving local businesses a private, resilient route to the AWS cloud.

The partnership marks a further step in GO’s evolution beyond traditional telecommunications into integrated ICT and digital solutions. Businesses will be able to connect their offices and data centres to AWS through dedicated private network connections, bringing together GO’s national fibre infrastructure and international connectivity with AWS cloud services, making cloud adoption simpler for businesses, while strengthening the resilience of their networks and the support behind them.

Commenting on the partnership, Ayrton Caruana, Chief of GO Business, said: “Becoming an AWS Direct Connect Partner is an important milestone in GO’s evolution as an ICT and digital solutions provider. We’re bringing together our local infrastructure and expertise with the capabilities of AWS, so that Maltese businesses can access global cloud services through connectivity that is secure, resilient and built around how they operate.”

The service is designed for organisations whose operations increasingly depend on the cloud, whether they are running business-critical applications, managing large volumes of data, or relying on robust backup, disaster recovery and hybrid cloud environments.

In keeping with GO’s approach of first understanding what each business depends on, customers will be able to explore resilient network architectures that use diverse connectivity routes and multiple AWS Direct Connect locations, depending on their requirements.

Underpinning the service is GO’s international network, including its connectivity to mainland Europe and its European Points of Presence (PoPs), extending GO’s capabilities well beyond Malta’s shores.

Patrick Gatt, Chief Officer, GO Wholesale, explained “International connectivity is a critical component of enterprise cloud infrastructure. Our European network footprint allows us to support businesses that need dependable connectivity to global cloud platforms. This partnership reflects the growing importance of cloud infrastructure and international connectivity to business competitiveness and gives Maltese organisations access to a truly global cloud ecosystem.”

Beyond connectivity, GO intends to complement the offering with managed networking, security, cloud migration and professional support services, so that businesses can rely on one trusted partner as they move more of their operations to the cloud.
