Meet Ylenia, our People Success Manager.

Can you tell us about your journey in the telecom industry? What inspired you to pursue a career in this field?

My journey in the telecom industry began over 7 years ago. just a couple of years after I graduated from University. I was always fascinated by how connectivity shapes our world, and this curiosity, coupled with my perception of GO as an innovative place to work, led me to pursue a career in telecommunications.

Can you share your experiences regarding GO’s support for women’s career development and advancement?

At GO, I have been fortunate to experience a supportive and empowering culture that encourages women’s career development. The company actively promotes gender diversity through various initiatives, such as leadership training programmes, coaching, networking opportunities, and flexible work arrangements. These efforts have been instrumental in fostering an environment where women can thrive and advance in their careers.

How has your career progressed within GO, and what opportunities for growth have you encountered?

My career progression within GO has been marked by continuous learning and new challenges. From my initial role as Training Coordinator to my current position as People Success Manager, I have embraced opportunities for growth through hands-on experience, professional development programmes, and mentorship. The ability to work on diverse projects and collaborate with talented professionals has been invaluable in shaping my career.

What advice would you give to young women considering a career in telecoms?

For young women considering a career in telecom, my advice is simple: be curious, be bold, and embrace challenges as opportunities for growth. Seek mentors, invest in continuous learning, and never hesitate to voice your ideas. The telecom industry is evolving rapidly, and there is ample space for women to lead and innovate.

What are your hopes and aspirations for the next generation of women in telecoms?

At GO, we have the power to foster an inclusive culture, supporting aspiring female leaders, and continuing to challenge the status quo. I look forward to seeing more women break barriers, take on leadership roles, and redefine the landscape of telecom.
