How can I transfer my data from my old phone to my iPhone phone?

Did you get a new iPhone mobile phone and want to transfer all of your data from your old phone to the new one? You can do this easily by following some quick steps.

iPhone to iPhone

  • iCloud Backup
    1. Go to Settings > [your name] > iCloud > iCloud Backup.
    2. Turn on iCloud Backup. iCloud automatically backs up your iPhone daily when iPhone is connected to power, locked, and on Wi-Fi.
    3. To perform a manual backup, tap Back Up Now.
  • Quick Start (iOS 12.4 or later)
    1. Turn on your new device and place it near your current device that’s using iOS 12.4 or later or iPadOS 13.4. The Quick Start screen appears on your current device and offers the option of using your Apple ID to set up your new device. Make sure that it’s the Apple ID that you want to use, then tap Continue. If you don’t see the option to continue on your current device, make sure that Bluetooth is turned on.
    2. Wait for an animation to appear on your new device. Hold your current device over the new device, then centre the animation in the viewfinder. Wait for a message that says Finish on New [Device]. If you can’t use your current camera, tap Authenticate Manually, then follow the steps that appear.
    3. When asked, enter your current passcode on your new device.
    4. Follow the instructions to set up Face ID or Touch ID on your new device.
    5. Tap Transfer from [Device] to begin transferring your data from your previous iPhone or iPad to your new device. You can also choose whether to transfer some settings, such as Apple Pay and Siri, from your previous device to your new iPhone or iPad.
    6. If you have an Apple Watch and you’re setting up a new iPhone, you’ll be asked if you’d like to transfer your Apple Watch data and settings.
    7. Keep your devices near each other and plugged in to power until the iPhone data migration process is complete. Transfer times can vary based on factors such as the connection type that you’re using, network conditions, and the amount of data being transferred.

Any Android to iPhone

  • Move to iOS at start-up
    1. Set up your iPhone or iPad until you reach the screen titled “Apps & Data”.
    2. Tap the “Move Data from Android” option.
    3. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Play Store and search for Move to iOS.
    4. Open the Move to iOS app listing.
    5. Tap Install
    6. Choose Open after it’s installed.
    7. Tap Continue on both devices.
    8. Select Agree and then Next on the Android phone or tablet.
    9. On your Android device, enter the 12-digit code displayed on the iPhone or iPad.

After entering the code, the Android device will connect with your iPhone or iPad over a peer-to-peer Wi-Fi connection and determine what data will be transferred. It will ask whether you want to transfer your Google Account info (so that you can quickly log in on your new Apple device), Chrome bookmarks, text messages, contacts, and the photos and videos in your camera roll. Select everything you want to move over.

Note: Move to iOS app transfers a lot of your data, it doesn’t transfer your apps (as they’re not compatible), music, or any of your passwords.
