Before you start cleaning, make sure to switch off the DC isolator, in other words, the safety switch for your solar system. This step ensures no electricity is flowing from the panels while you clean. Once the panels are dry and spotless, you can safely switch the DC isolator back on.

Cleaning guidelines:

• Clean when panels are cool, ideally in the early morning.
• Use clean water only (no soaps or chemicals).
• Never use high-pressure cleaners, as they may damage the panels.
• Check that there’s no debris such as grit, sand or hard particles on the panels or your cleaning tools as these can scratch the glass.
• Avoid letting water run over electrical components.
• If you’re working at height, always use the proper safety gear.

Pro tip:
Remove bird droppings promptly with clean water and a soft brush. Avoid scraping, as this could scratch the glass.
