Taxes are charged based on the total amount of your bill. You will typically find two types of taxes listed on your bill.

• Value-added tax (VAT) – this consists of 18% above the price of each item on your bill. All bills issued by GO display VAT.
• Excise tax – this is a tax specifically for mobile services. It consists of 4% above the price of each item on your mobile service bill. Excise duty is a national tax, imposed by the Excise Duty Act – Chapter 382 of the Laws of Malta.
