How was the Best Mobile Network Award determined?
Speedchecker uses a reliable, data-driven methodology to measure mobile network coverage quality worldwide. Here’s how it works in simple terms:
Collecting data
Every day, millions of real-world mobile connection measurements are anonymously gathered from Android & iOS devices around Malta.
Ensuring quality
Measurements are filtered carefully to remove any inaccurate or irrelevant data, ensuring that only reliable information contributes to the analysis.
Mapping coverage
Data collected over the past 12 months is organised into small geographic areas (approximately 1 km² each). Each area is assessed based on signal strength.
Calculating the winner
These scores are summed across Malta for each operator. The one reflecting consistently strong & widespread coverage is awarded.
