Will GO Energi Feed-in still work with EasyBuy?

Yes, GO Energi works seamlessly with EasyBuy, so you can pay for your system in monthly instalments over 10 years with 0% interest and no upfront costs.

GO Energi with a Grant
You get a reduced initial system cost thanks to the one-time government incentive and you pay the remaining balance through your monthly GO Energi instalments.

GO Energi with Feed-in
You cover the full system cost through GO Energi monthly instalments, while earning ongoing revenue by selling the electricity you generate at the Feed-in Tariff rate.

Who is normally eligible for the Feed-in Tariff?

You’re typically eligible for the Feed-in Tariff if your property is not your main residence, is used for commercial purposes or if you’ve already received a grant. This makes it a great way to earn from the energy your property generates. It’s also the first GO Energi product available to business customers.

What is included in the GO Energi Feed-in product?

The standard GO Energi Feed-in package includes:

  • PV Panels: Available in various sizes to suit your roof and energy needs.
  • Mounting Structure: A durable, high-quality structure that supports your entire system.
  • Inverter: A hybrid inverter that can connect to a battery, allowing your system to automatically switch to stored energy when needed.
How would I know if my roof can support the GO Energi PV system?

In essence, the GO Energi PV system can be installed on nearly any roof. The best way to confirm whether your roof is suitable is through an on-site visit. After the visit, we will provide you with the structure’s weight, which you can then share with your architect.

Can you choose the one-time settlement option for GO Energi Feed-in?

Yes, you can pay for your system either through monthly instalments or with a one-time settlement.

Please note that customers aged 65 or older can purchase GO Energi only through the one-time settlement option.

How will I receive the €25 KLIKK voucher?

Once your site visit is completed, you’ll receive the €25 KLIKK voucher by email. It will be sent to the same email address you provided to us.

How will I receive the €200 KLIKK or GO voucher?

Can I use the GO Energi PV system if I live in Gozo?

Absolutely. The GO Energi PV System is available for residents in both Malta and Gozo. In fact, if you’re in Gozo, you get even better grant coverage. The government covers 95% of battery storage installation costs, while residents in Malta can still enjoy up to 85% funding.

Can I still install a GO Energi PV system if I have shaded areas on my roof?

Yes, you can. All you need to do is add a power optimizer to your inverter, which allows each panel to operate independently. During the initial site visit, our professionals will evaluate whether optimizers are necessary, and if so, these can also be paid monthly.

I don’t have any GO services, can I still purchase the GO Energi PV system?

Yes, of course you can. The GO Energi PV system is also available to customers who don’t have any of our services.

What level of support will customers receive with GO Energi Feed-in?

Does the GO Energi PV system come with a warranty?

The PV panels come with 30 years of performance warranty, while the inverters and batteries are covered for 10 years. Moreover, these warranties are provided by two financially stable companies for that added peace of mind.

What is an Import/Export Metre, also known as a Smart Metre?

An import/export metre is a handy device that keeps track of two important things:

  • Exported electricity: This is the extra energy produced by your PV system that is not used at your property and gets sent back into the grid. You’ll see this on your bill marked as “EXPORT” and your smart metre usually displays it under “Export info.”
  • Imported electricity: This is electricity you draw from the grid whenever your PV system isn’t producing enough energy. Supplied by Enemalta plc, this usage shows up as “IMPORT” on your bill and appears as “Consumption” on your smart meter.
Do I need a new electricity metre when installing a GO Energi PV system?

Yes, even if you have a smart electricity metre, an additional one must be installed. This is supplied by Enemalta plc.

I have a Smart Metre installed. Do I still need a PV metre?

Yes, you’ll still need an additional PV metre. Usually, connecting your PV system to the grid requires both a PV metre and a Smart Metre, both provided by Enemalta plc. The PV metre specifically tracks all the electricity your solar system generates, helping you see exactly how much clean energy you’re producing.

What is the payment period of the GO Energi PV system?

The GO Energi PV system comes with a 10-year payment plan, starting from only €23.99/month for a fully complete system. This price includes the grant discount.

Apart from the monthly fee, do any other one-time fees apply when purchasing a GO Energi PV system?

Any customisations you might have added to the standard package would be billed as a one-time fee. Also where applicable, €100 for the design fee applies. These fees would only be requested once grant eligibility has been confirmed.

The design fee is FREE to GO Home Pack and/or Mobile Freedom Plan customers, so if you are subscribed to these plans and did not upgrade from the standard package, no one-time fees will apply to you.

From when would the monthly fee of the GO Energi repayment plan become applicable?

The monthly payment will come into effect once the GO Energi PV system is installed.

What typically happens during an on-site visit for the GO Energi PV system?

Our professional installers will assess the roof and its condition, take measurements and recommend the optimal location for the panels. They will also evaluate shading levels to determine the panels’ efficiency and discuss any necessary adjustments to obstacles.

How much time is required for the GO Energi PV system to be installed?

Not much. Normally in a day the whole set-up will be delivered to your home and will be fully installed.

What mounting system is used to install the GO Energi PV system?

We install our GO Energi PV system on an integrated ballast and structure that is resistant to corrosion. The mount used is wind tunnel tested and also certified to high wind loads. Furthermore, no roof penetrations are needed as to avoid any water ingress in the roof. The system is installed at a low angle, making it more aesthetically pleasing.

Would I need Wi-Fi close to the GO Energi PV system?

A Wi-Fi connection is not mandatory, however connecting the GO Energi PV system to Wi-Fi gives you the added benefit of monitoring your system through the app or the online portal.

Is the GO Energi PV System supported by an app?

Absolutely. The app is called iSolar Cloud and it can be downloaded right from the Play or Apple stores.

Can I monitor how much power is being generated by my GO Energi PV system?

Yes, when the inverter included with the GO Energi PV system is connected to Wi-Fi, you would be able to monitor real-time data either through the app or online portal. During installation, we can help you with the set-up of the app and guide you accordingly.

How can I keep an eye on my solar panels to make sure they’re working properly?

It’s easy. Just hop onto the iSolar App or online portal to check in on your system. We recommend having a quick look daily or at least weekly to make sure your panels are producing power as expected. If you notice a sudden dip in performance, it could be a sign of a fault, some shading or an inverter issue.

Do I need to clean my solar panels?

You sure do. Things like dust, bird droppings or leaves can block sunlight and reduce your system’s efficiency. For most homes, giving your panels a clean once or twice a year does the trick, but if you live somewhere dusty, near the coast or in a high-pollution area, a little more frequent cleaning might be needed.

Here are a few handy cleaning tips:

  • Use a soft brush with an extendable pole and a garden hose.
  • If your panels are tricky to reach, it’s safest to call a professional.
  • Try to clean them on cooler, overcast days to avoid thermal shock and cracking which could be caused by hot panels and cold water.
How to safely turn off and clean your solar panels

Before you start cleaning, make sure to switch off the DC isolator, in other words, the safety switch for your solar system. This step ensures no electricity is flowing from the panels while you clean. Once the panels are dry and spotless, you can safely switch the DC isolator back on.

Cleaning guidelines:

  • Clean when panels are cool, ideally in the early morning.
  • Use clean water only (no soaps or chemicals).
  • Never use high-pressure cleaners, as they may damage the panels.
  • Check that there’s no debris such as grit, sand or hard particles on the panels or your cleaning tools as these can scratch the glass.
  • Avoid letting water run over electrical components.
  • If you’re working at height, always use the proper safety gear.

Pro tip:
Remove bird droppings promptly with clean water and a soft brush. Avoid scraping, as this could scratch the glass.
