What are home plugs boosters and how can I set them up?

Home plug boosters are devices that can be used to extend the range of a home network by using the existing electrical wiring in the walls of a home.

Typically, a home plug booster comes in a set of two adapters, one that plugs into a wall outlet near the main router and another that plugs into an outlet in another part of the house.

Home plug boosters and Smart Wi-Fi are both used to improve the wireless coverage in a home, however, they operate differently. Whilst home plug boosters rely on the quality and age of the electrical wiring in the home, Smart Wi-Fi use multiple access points to create a single, seamless network throughout a home, making it more flexible and scalable. Check out our Smart Wi-Fi page for more information.

You can set up your home plug boosters by following the below steps:

  • Connect the home plugs to a power socket
  • On the home plugs side/front, you should find a button
  • Click the button of the home plug connected to the modem
  • Afterwards click the button on the front from the other home plug

This should pair your home plugs. For further information, kindly refer to the book manual which is provided with the home plugs.
